Bounce into the weekend with Bea Miller
“Force of nature” (PAPER Magazine) Bea Miller has released her new EP ‘elated!’ today. The seven-song project is her most honest body of work yet as she gets more personal, political and remaining as ferocious as ever. This honesty and ferociousness is demonstrated on tracks like EP opener “hallelujah” where she battles her own anger about political tumult and trying to make the world a better place on the dark-pop track. Elsewhere on “wisdom teeth,” which she released earlier this month, Bea meditates on the lost innocence of her childhood over bouncy synths. Listen to ‘elated’ here.
‘elated!’ is the first body of work since her 2018 sophomore album ‘aurora’ and follows a whirlwind year in 2019 that saw her team up with Jessie Reyez on “FEELS LIKE HOME,” 6lack on “it’s not u it’s me” and her single “feel something” which has gone on to become a viral hit in 2020. Since its release “feel something” has garnered over 192 million streams and has become a fan favorite on TikTok where the song has amassed over 3.4 billion video views and over 1.3 million video creations in part, thanks to the “Euphoria Makeup Challenge.” Yesterday, ahead of today’s EP release, Bea shared a new remix of “feel something” with Portland-bred rapper Aminé called “FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT” which Idolator declared an “emotional bop” with its very “on-trend disco elements and a slick verse from Aminé.” Listen to “FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT” here.
This past weekend, Bea returned to the stage at the Teragram Ballrom in Los Angeles for an electric live performance as part of Save Our Stages, #SOSFEST, a three day virtual festival to help save independent venues. Bea’s dynamic and eclectic set included the debut live performance of “wisdom teeth” as well as “feel something,” “FEELS LIKE HOME” and more. View Bea’s performance below:
