Exclusive 'Edinburgh Style' event this weekend

This Thursday is the start of something new at the St James Quarter as they present the first ever ‘Edinburgh Style’ event.

The weekend starts early in the capital this weekend as the brand-new shopping centre continues to impress. Starting on Thursday, there will be an array of stylish events focusing on fashion over the long weekend with workshops, pop-ups and world-renowned influencers taking over the spacious building.

Every day from 11am Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th, St James Quarter will host a variety of pop-up events for fashionistas. The stylish people of Scotland will have the opportunity to explore the ‘Style Dome’ on St James Square and the ‘Style Lounge’ in the galleria.

The organisers of this four day extravaganza have brought in some of the most stylish people to bring inspiration to the people of Edinburgh through events.

The ‘Style Dome’ will host a series of talks by eight iconic influencers and one of the most anticipated is Reuben de Maid – a beauty icon with a incredible following on Instagram and one of the few in the world who can boast Kim Kardashian as a no.1 fan. Jilly Isabella who is a Scottish fashion guru and the founder of Dula fashion house will also give a talk - her fashion house is built on the idea of ‘normalise outfit repeating’ and we are excited to hear this Glasgow idol. John Lewis, forming a formidable part of St James Quarter, will have an exclusive session with the wonderful Chioma, an established model who will provide tips on how to style our winter wardrobe.

A special invitation has been extended to Edinburgh College of Art graduates who will present their collections in the galleria for a boutique fashion show where models will style the beautiful, creative pieces. The Textiles and Jewellery, as well as the Silversmith, graduates will have their work displayed in the ‘Style Dome’ too. An exclusive talk will be with Rosie Baird who was the Edinburgh College of Art and Graduate Fashion Week 2019 Award Winner to discuss her own graduate collection as well as her inspiration behind the St James Quarter Tartan which she designed.

There will be various pop-up bars and selfie stations at the ‘Style Stories’ throughout the weekend as well as an art exhibition. Brands based in The Quarter are also set to get involved with the fashion style events, including Boots, Peloton, Ixia Flowers, Keihl’s and IOLLA, as they promote and participate over the course of the weekend.

Rochelle Weir, brand and marketing director at St James Quarter, said: “Not only will this give people an opportunity to see all the amazing brands, including Keihl’s and IOLLA, we have here at St James Quarter but it’s also a chance to flaunt your own style and be inspired by others. The influencers attending to host our fashion and beauty workshops are some of the best in the business.

“We are also extremely excited to be working with Edinburgh College of Art graduates to bring our very own fashion show to life. If you’re in Edinburgh from the 14th-17th October, make sure to come down and check out everything we have going on – it’s not to be missed!”

St James Quarter continues to be the buzz of the city centre as it draws crowds with the variety of clothing stores, restaurants and lifestyle shops the new shopping centre offers. Up to an excess of 3 million visitors have passed through the newly outfitted space and the event is expected to draw more so than usual.

Everyone in the capital is abuzz with excitement for the fashion fuelled weekend as we prepare our winter wardrobes and learn the latest styles.
