Harvey Nichols Launches International Accessories Department

After several years in the making, Harvey Nichols unveils the brand-new International Accessories Departments in its Edinburgh location. With a new, modern and open space to showcase the bags and jewellery pieces from loved brands such as Bottega Veneta, Loewe and CELINE (exclusive to Harvey Nichols in Scotland), this beautifully transformed space is a delight to shop the new 2021 collections.

For those who have shopped here before, you might remember the old International Accessories Department which previously had heavy fixtures and enclosed spaces. Now the back area of the ground floor has been redesigned with the purpose of exploring and admiring the international brands who display their bags, jewellery, shoes and other accessories.

Each brand has its own boutique area with the use of new units to display jewellery and other bags, as well as clothes racks with a few select items from the collections to help separate between the brands. The new units themselves are beautiful as the accessory pieces sit on speckled marble tops which enhances the richness of the ambience; it elevates the stock without arguing with the pieces. The new units also open up more space on the shelves for the individual items to sit farther apart and therefore have their own moment. A mixture of other darker coloured blue units and orange velvet units entice shoppers to see what they hold.

The light fixtures have been changed; they are not similar to the rest of the ground floor in order to create a more collective space. The headings with the brand names have been changed to white, lighted boards. The tiled flooring with a rug in each brand section pulls the area together whilst being aesthetically pleasing. This modern and refreshed space allows the accessory pieces to become the focus with the varying colours and shapes attracting shoppers’ eyes.

The brands which sit pride of place in the newly refurbished area are Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Loewe, Balenciaga and CELINE. All of their latest Spring/Summer 2021 collection occupies the area and are beautifully presented. The mini pouches and the cassette bags are the most popular from Bottega Veneta whilst Loewe’s elegant leather bags are visible from afar in its prominent position. Balenciaga’s small handbags with their unique shape take up the wall space whilst other pieces occupy the units and finally, two French brands sit side by side. Saint Laurent and CELINE give a final touch to the ambience with their charming, graceful bags and individual assorted pieces.

Louise Masson, the General Manager at Harvey Nichols, Edinburgh says; “[w]e are proud to showcase the most diverse selection of luxury accessories in Edinburgh from a broad range of iconic international designers. With every brand on our department producing items of the highest quality, hand crafted by skilled artisans. Customers purchasing a luxury handbag are effectively investing in a portable piece of art, and one that, with a little care and a lot of love, will stand the test of time for many years to come.

“At Harvey Nichols, we pride ourselves on offering premium products and recognise the global shift away from fast fashion towards shopping more sustainably. The new Accessories Department is a prime example of this, and we look forward to welcoming our customers into store.”

For those looking for other brands’ accessories a Harvey Nichols, such as Vivienne Westwood and Marc Jacobs, these can be found upstairs on the third floor.

Open since 2002, Harvey Nichols continues to display the latest collections of designer brands; the exquisite pieces are beautifully presented and now with the new opening of the refurbished International Accessories Department with its fresh, modern look, shoppers can really appreciate each and every piece within the collections.
