Kickstart Opportunities Announced


We’re an expanding group of regional magazine publishers. From our offices in Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh we aim to have a portfolio of print and digital titles in the lifestyle, food and drink sectors in Wales, Scotland and parts of England. We are delighted to be offering some amazing opportunities to join our team and gain some valuable on the job experience as part of the UK Government's Kickstart programme, providing paid jobs for 6 month placement.


We are in search for talent with untapped potential to work in either our newly created digital department or our sales department. We are looking for people that are passionate, love music, events, fashion, sport, retail and hospitality.


Magazine Executive

As part of our exciting digital growth strategy, we are looking for eager to learn writers who are passionate about telling the best stories from the region that are specific to our publications. We need skilled trainee journalists to join our digital team in Wales and Scotland covering business news, features and reviews across the region. As a Magazine Executive, you will find and report on the stories and issues that matter to our readers in a way that ensures as many people as possible find, discover and respond to our work, helping us to have a positive impact on the communities we serve.


Marketing Executive

As part of our exciting digital growth strategy, we are looking for ‘can do’ marketeers to work centrally between our sales, digital and editorial teams to develop our databases of clients, potential clients, distribution and editorial contacts. As a marketeer, you will: help publish stories online, sharing these in various groups and social media formats; produce marketing campaigns to support sales activity; build and manage databases; manage social media and digital campaigns; contribute to strategies that will monetise our digital offering. The role will primarily be office and/or home-office based and make extensive use of cloud based software. It’s a marketing role that’s varied and would suit someone who enjoys social media and has an interest in publishing and digital marketing.


Graphic Designer

We are looking for a creative person to work centrally between our publication teams to help create engaging print and digital content to attract readers, both in print and to our website and in turn become subscribers. As a member of our in-house digital team, you will also help tell stories online, via social media, and those shared in various groups and using different social media formats. The ideal candidate will have excellent print and digital design skills, ideally in both static and moving image. You will work with members of the team to create stunning designs across a range of media delivered by the business. You will be spending most of your time on the computer either from our Edinburgh office or via home making extensive use of cloud based software. It’s a design role that’s varied and would suit someone who enjoys creating amazing graphics and video content.


Sales Executive

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly-motivated sales person to sell advertising space in our publications to both regional and UK wide clients. Our sales executive members need to be tenacious and articulate and able to identify, nurture and secure new clients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking on the telephone and face to face. You will work with Sales Managers in delivering the ad sales target across a range of media delivered by the business. You will be spending most of your time on the telephone and we estimate that outbound calls will be about 60% of the working day. The role will primarily be office based and make extensive use of cloud based software. There may be occasional need to travel to clients alongside this. It’s a sales role that’s varied and would suit someone who enjoys sales and has an interest in publishing and digital marketing.
