NQ64: The New Bar in Town

An incredibly fun new bar is opening on Lothian Road in Edinburgh this summer.

NQ64 is one of the UK’s top arcade bar brands and will make its debut in Scotland. The company currently have bars in Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool; and they are excited to add Edinburgh to the list.

The arcade bar has a signature look across all its locations: it’s a neon, graffiti-spattered, gaming and drinking den. There are a variety of fan favourites and cult classics for arcade, console and pinball machines. The list includes Guitar Hero, Pac-Man, Game Boy, Mario Kart, PlayStation, RoboCop, Calaga, Narc and many, many others. Most of the games have been sourced from elsewhere, although a few are from the UK, and this eclectic mix of games have been lovingly restored to their former glory.

As for the bar, the company offers a selection of craft beers and spirits as well as game-themed cocktails. They use a range of local breweries and distilleries and the bar staff can make any classic cocktail you wish.

Edinburgh is currently very lucky as NQ64 will be inviting people from Edinburgh to test the games and enjoy some drinks. If you wish to be one of the lucky people for this opportunity, follow their Instagram account on @nq64edinburgh and keep an eye out for the upcoming post which will appear sometime in the next few weeks.

NQ64’s founder, Matt Robson, has said, “We can’t wait to get our Edinburgh site open. I love the city, and I hope people are going to love our new bar. We’re grafting behind the scenes to get the venue, our retro games and a banging booze selection ready!”
